Mister Rogers arrives with a small container of homemade play clay. Taking it to the kitchen, he molds the clay as he talks and talks about playing with clay as a boy -- sometimes to express his feelings. This leads into Mister Rogers singing What Do You Do With the Mad That You Feel. At the Neighborhood arts center, Mister Rogers talks with Bill Strickland, a talented artist who demonstrates the process of making a pot from clay. Mister Rogers is given a hands-on lesson in pottery. As they walk to the kiln, Bob Trow passes by with a portrait of Audrey Roth. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Miss Paulificate shows Queen Sara a unique portrait of King Friday done with fabric on the back of a denim jacket. Once the castle garden is vacated, Lady Elaine begins taking measurements at the castle but is interrupted by Robert Troll. Discontent with Lady Elaine's meager explanation, Robert Troll walks to the Museum where Lady Elaine mentions that she will be giving the King a "different surprise" instead of a portrait. With a "boomerang-toomerang-soomerang," a bowl of play clay in front of Lady Elaine is gone. Almost immediately, King Friday uses a loud speaker to page Lady Elaine. At the castle, play clay is covering all of the royal portraits and Lady Elaine is instructed to clean it up. Queen Sara whispers some advice to Robert Troll who, in turn, begins measuring Lady Elaine. Back at the house, Mister Rogers talks about how art can be used to express feelings in a very healthy way. Part of the "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" series.
