Mister Rogers arrives with a toy trumpet that is not working properly. A call to Mr. McFeely has already been made and he arrives very quickly to help Mister Rogers with his broken trumpet. Having stopped at the Neighborhood toy store, Mr. McFeely delivers a working trumpet to exchange for the defective one. Joe Negri calls to let Mister Rogers know that musician Wynton Marsalis will be visiting the music shop later in the week. Mrs. McFeely also calls to tell Mr. McFeely that a film he was expecting has arrived. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Royal Trumpeter Adkins has a broken trumpet and King Friday feels that it must be fixed immediately as Friday's Comet will be appearing within the week. Meanwhile, Lady Elaine Fairchilde is planning a surprise celebration for Henrietta Pussycat's birthday and finds King Friday having his own comet to be ridiculous. Handyman Negri is able to fix the royal trumpet as he, Lady Elaine, Mr. Adkins discuss King Friday's instructions to celebrate his comet. As Mr. Adkins plays his newly repaired trumpet, Hanyman Negri and Lady Elaine sing A Hand Lady and a Handy Man. At the tree, Handyman Negri passes along the Lady Elaine's plans to X the Owl before Henrietta comes out in an unpleasant mood. Feeling inadequate, Henrietta does not want to celebrate a comet or anything else. Meanwhile, Edgar Cooke is at the castle feeling overwhelmed by King Friday's demands for the comet celebration including a life-size comet cake. Back at the house, Mr. McFeely returns and shares a film with Mister Rogers about how people make trumpets. Part of the "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" series.
