Mister Rogers arrives with a picture showing a variety of stringed instruments. He described each instrument before watching a film with Mr. McFeely about how people make bass violins. After the film, Mr. McFeely mentions that Yo-Yo Ma is visiting Negri's Music Shop. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Aberlin is struggling in her attempt to play the bass violin. Old Goat shares that he cannot play the bass violin either leaving them both unsure of what they will do for the upcoming bass violin festival. Sharing her worries with Neighbor Aber and Lady Elaine, Lady Aberlin decides that dancing with the bass violin will allow her to showcase her talents while still including the instrument. Back at the house, after talking about the importance of practicing talents which you enjoy, Mister Rogers takes viewers along on a visit to Negri's Music Shop where Yo-Yo Ma is practicing his cello. Mister Rogers and Yo-Yo Ma discuss family and music before Yo-Yo plays a few pieces by Bach. Concluding the visit, Joe Negri and Yo-Yo Ma play Tree Tree Tree. Returning to the house, Mister Rogers takes a quiet moment to remember the music he has just heard. Part of the "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" series.
