Mister Rogers opens by talking about how his job is to make television programs for children. As the camera pans out, viewers are treated to a glimpse of the studio where Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is filmed. After briefly introducing Johnny Costa, Bobby Rawsthorne, and Carl McVicker, Mister Rogers returns to his television home and talks about writing music. He then sings It's You I Like and spends some time thinking about the kind of work that children do. Opening a case he brought with him, Mister Rogers shows several of the Neighborhood of Make-Believe puppets before Mr. McFeely stops by with a set of pictures. The pictures show many of the sets and puppets that Fred Rogers had used throughout his career. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the water pipe repair is going well thanks to Ellen Paterson and Beaver O'Day's hard work. Taking a break from their work, Ellen and Beaver enjoy some music (I Like to Take My Time) compliments of Handyman Negri and his guitar. Down in the hole, Lady Elaine sees the new pipeline and is quite impressed with its quality. At the clock, Daniel is somewhat disappointed by the fact that they will not have a Neighborhood swimming pool. Meanwhile, many neighbors have come to see the final progress before the pipes are buried again. Once the water supply is re-established, everyone works together to fill in the hole. With a job well done, the workers are paid 3,000 as Mayor Maggie and Neighbor Aber propose a community swimming pool to be shared with Westwood. Back at the house, Mister Rogers sings I'm Taking Care of You as he packs up the Neighborhood puppets. Bob Trow stops by to show the chalk drawing he has recently completed outside Mister Rogers' house. He also shows some portraits he has done of others in the Neighborhood. Part of the "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" series.
