Jetsaida lives in Villa Mella near the Dominican capital in an afro community called "Mata de los Indios." She spends her days taking care of her family's horses and dreams of being a jockey just like her dad. In San Juan de la Maguana, Eme waits for her with friends and relatives to show her an old Indian ceremonial plaza, a cornfield, and historic sites of San Juan. Just before she has to say goodbye, they play in the Yaque del Sur river. Jetsaida returns home knowing she has a true friend she can count on.
