Hello, my friends. Welcome back to "Gigi's Magic Mailbox".

[bells chiming]

There's our favorite sound. Let's see what the Magic Mailbox brought us.

(Describer) Gigi opens the magic mailbox. Purple fireworks burst.

"Goodnight Goon." This story is a lot like "Goodnight Moon" only this is a creepy, spooky Halloween version of the story, and it's lots of fun. If you have your own copy, go grab it, and you can read it along with me. All right, let's get started.

(Describer) In an animation, a magic mirror reflects Gigi, a red-lipped woman in bejeweled, cat-eye glasses.

[bright music]

(children) "Gigi's Magic Mailbox."

(Gigi) "Goodnight Goon: A Petrifying Parody," written and illustrated by Michael Rex. In the cold gray tomb, there was a gravestone and a black lagoon. And a picture of... Martians taking over the moon.

(Describer) In a painting, Martians force astronauts to put their hands up.

[bells chiming]

There's that magical sound. Let's see what's in the Magic Mailbox.

(Describer) Gigi opens the mailbox. Purple fireworks spray.

Some planets and a rocket ship, and a little alien, or a Martians as the story says. He saw Martians taking over the moon, didn't he? That was funny. Well, these are little stickers you can put on something. Let me get them a little closer so you can see them. They're pretty cool. Well let's see what else he sees in the story. And there were three little mummies rubbing their tummies.

(Describer) In another painting, mummies wear bibs. A skeleton lies on the ground.

And two hairy claws and a set of jaws. And a loud screechy bat and a black hat.

[bells chiming]

There's that magical sound. Let's see what the Magic Mailbox brought us. I hope it's not anything too creepy.

(Describer) Gigi opens the mailbox and reaches inside.

Oh, it might be a little creepy. Look at that. A big screechy bat. Can you see his red glowing eyes? He's nice and floppy. He could fly really well, couldn't he? Well let's see what else happens in the story. And a skull and a shoe and a pot full of goo. And a hairy old werewolf who was hollering.

(Werewolf) Boo!

[bells chiming]

There's our favorite sound. Let's see what's in there.

(Describer) Gigi opens the mailbox. Purple fireworks sparkle.

Huh? An O, and another O, and a B. Well, that werewolf was hollering "boo." And look, if we put these together, we can spell boo too. B-O-O spells boo. And T-O--O spells too. Well this is a cool little sign. Boo! Well let's get back to the story now and see what else happens. Goodnight tomb. Goodnight goon.

(Describer) A green goon in striped pajamas climbs through the window.

Goodnight Martians taking over the moon.

(Describer) The goon chomps the Martian painting.

Goodnight bones and the black lagoon.

(Describer) The goon fishes with a bone fishing rod in the lagoon.

Goodnight mummies. Goodnight tummies.

(Describer) Mummies run from the painting as it sinks in the lagoon.

Goodnight claws.

(Describer) The goon steals a fish from the claws.

And goodnight jaws.

(Describer) The goon feeds the fish to the lagoon monster. Claws chase the fish.

Goodnight moans and goodnight groans.

[creature groaning]

(Describer) The goon rides a floating ghost.

Goodnight screechy bat.

(Describer) The goon chases a bat with a witch broom.

And goodnight hat.

(Describer) A witch takes her hat from the goon.

Goodnight skull.

(Describer) A witch and vampire adjust a skeleton.

And goodnight shoe.

(Describer) The goon walks with a big shoe.

Goodnight creature.

(Describer) A Frankenstein takes his shoe from the goon.

Goodnight goo.

(Describer) The goon pours witch's brew into his mouth.

And goodnight to the old werewolf hollering.

[Werewolf] Boo!

(Describer) The werewolf chases the creatures.

Goodnight you.

(Describer) A young werewolf points at the goon.

Get under there.

(Describer) The young werewolf points under a bed.

Goodnight monsters everywhere.

[monster snoring]

(Describer) All the creatures in the tomb sleep.

The end. Let's play a game. Halloween Seek and Find.

(Describer) Text: "Halloween Hunt." A haunted house scene appears.

Can you find the purple and orange potion bottle? I wonder where it can be. Look really close towards the bottom of the screen. There it is.

(Describer) Behind a letter C tombstone.

Can you find the greenish ghost? Now where could that ghost be hiding? Is that something in the window? There he is.

(Describer) The ghost floats in a second story window.

Can you find the spider with the six legs, which we know they all have eight? Where is that creepy little critter? Is that something in the tree? You're right. There he is.

(Describer) The spider dangles from a tree branch.

Can you find the skull? Look really hard. He might be sitting on a hill. There it is.

(Describer) The skull hides left of a letter D tombstone.

Can you find the pumpkin with two teeth that is smiling and has a hat on? This one's tricky because there are two pumpkins in the picture. But this one is the bigger pumpkin, it's rounder. Do you see it? There it is.

(Describer) The pumpkin hides behind a bush.

Can you find the black cauldron with the green, bubbling goo? This one is easy if you just look for the green colors on the page. Do you see it? There it is.

(Describer) The cauldron hides behind another bush.

Can you find this pumpkin, also who has two teeth and a funny hat? This pumpkin is hiding really well. Do you see it? Remember, it's the smaller pumpkin this time. There it is.

(Describer) The smaller pumpkin hides behind a gatepost.

Can you find the purple candle with the orange flame? Remember, we're looking for the purple candle with the orange flame. It's tiny. Did you find it? There it is.

(Describer) The candle sits in front of a letter B tombstone.

Can you find the tombstone with the letter C? This one can be tricky. There are four tombstones, one with A, B, C, and D. Can you find the one with the C? There it is.

(Describer) It sits to the right of the gate.

And here's the last one. Can you find the bone? Since this is the last one, and it's kind of tricky since it's so tiny, I'm not going to zoom in. Can you find the tiny little bone? Look hard. There it is. Good job.

(Describer) By the tree.
