In this episode, students explore the historic monuments of Kyoto, Japan and Esfahan, Iran. Kyoto was the capital of Japan before it was moved to Tokoyo. Although Kyoto is no longer the capital, the city is still the focal point of traditional Japanese culture and acts as an important spiritual support for the Japanese people. The city is also home to a vast array of precious shrines, temples, and Buddhist artwork. Esfahan is an ancient city that dates back to the time of the Assyrian Empire, but it repeatedly experienced periods of prosperity and decline. Part of the “World Heritage” series.
