For Zahi Hawass, the revelations in the bones and tombs have helped re-write history. New discoveries by a bone expert reveal the common idea that a slave army (mostly male) built the pyramids is wrong. In fact, it was evenly split, males to females, and included children. Whether slave or free, many of the workers spent most of their days doing brutally hard work.
