Born in 1837 into a well-to-do family, John Pierpont Morgan became one of the nation's most influential and powerful men. Morgan had an instinct for business, a keen eye for a person's character, and a strong drive to do things his way. His rise to power began early, continued when he merged railroads and formed U.S. Steel, and culminated when he saved the country from bankruptcy. While known for his business acumen, he also amassed a huge collection of the world's best art. Photos, political cartoons, footage, and experts are included.
