Destinies, a 26-tape set consisting of two half-hour episodes per tape, teaches speaking, listening, and comprehension skills in Spanish. This telenovela, or Spanish soap opera, immerses you in everyday situations with native speakers and introduces cultures, accents, and dialects of Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. Your understanding and appreciation of Spanish increases as you become absorbed in this mysterious and entertaining story. The vocabulary in lessons 12-18 includes: numbers (100 - 200); food groups (meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, others); writing and written works. The grammar covers: preterit tense; direct and indirect object pronouns; prepositions; pronoun objects of prepositions; using adjectives; verbs used reflexively and non-reflexively; gustar and verbs like it; and two object pronouns together.
