In "16 Hudson: Home Improvements," friends create a video tour of their apartment building for Mei in China, but a plan to repair squeaky radiators, chipped walls, and broken playground equipment leads to an important lesson about community life. The episode highlights problem solving, decision-making, perspective-taking, and emotional awareness as the group realizes that everyday marks and imperfections can hold shared memories and meaning. With themes of friendship, belonging, and preserving what makes a place special, the story supports social-emotional learning, speaking and listening, and discussions about homes, neighborhoods, and community identity in elementary curricula. Part of the "16 Hudson" series.
