Reaching statehood in 1850, over the next 160 years, California's many peoples tell the story of the Wild West, including the building of the Transcontinental Railroad, the founding of Hollywood, and the beginnings of the state's famous wineries. Other events covered include the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, the Great Depression, WWII, and the Cold War. Part of the "California" series.
