Brooke: All the jobs in the world-- can you imagine-- have been divided into 16 categories called "career clusters." These career clusters group jobs that require similar knowledge and skills. Sam: Huh, that's interesting. Can you give me an example? Brooke: Sure. One of the career clusters is health science. Many people think of a doctor or a nurse, but health sciences also include many other jobs, like pharmacist, paramedic/EMT, nurse's aide, or medical records clerk. Each job requires a different amount of education and training and also different levels of responsibility. Another career cluster is information technology, which includes jobs connected with computers. Jobs in this cluster include computer programmer, software developer, computer operator, or web designer. Some of these jobs are very new, and the training programs can be very specialized.
