Following World War I, many nations were understandably anxious to avoid another world war. As Hitler began invading European nations, the practice of appeasement was initially adopted with the hopes of avoiding another war. Great Britain even signed the Munich Agreement, which gave Hitler a large section of Czechoslovakia. However, this did not stop Hitler's invasions nor did it keep World War II from happening.
