As Hitler began invading European nations, the practice of appeasement was initially adopted with the hopes of avoiding another war. Great Britain even signed the Munich Agreement, which gave Hitler a large section of Czechoslovakia. However, this did not stop Hitler's invasions nor did it keep World War II from happening.
