An orphanage for injured animals in northeastern Australia raises 500 baby spectacled flying foxes each year. The youngsters have lost their mothers to a disease caused by ticks. The adult flying foxes suffer paralysis when bitten by ticks, and workers from the animal orphanage care for the babies hoping to release them back into the wild.
