Director/producer Susan Hamovitch takes viewers on a journey through her relationship with her brother, Alan. At age eight, Alan was institutionalized at Letchworth Village. During that period, Alan became a secret and almost all mention of him within the home virtually ceased. When Letchworth closed, Alan reentered the community. This documentary chronicles the Hamovitch family as they struggle to come to terms with the realities of institutionalization as well as the perceptions of people with mental disabilities.
