Part of the "American Tall Tales & Legends" series. During a time when America was inhabited by Native Americans, many tales evolved around an Native-American princess named Pocahontas. Born near the English colony of Jamestown, Virginia in 1597, she would later become a bridge of peace between the Native Americans and the English colonists. As the daughter of a chief named Powhatan, she first saw the English settlers when she was just 11 years old. Curious yet cautious, Pocahontas observed these strangers as strange indeed. However, as her relationship with the English colonists developed, it would soon transform into a life-saving experience.
