In 1835, a small mission, 200 defenders, and a one-hour battle forged the rallying cry for Texas independence from Mexico. Re-creates the battle of the Alamo in two parts: Part One sets the background for key figures, the political situation, and the beginning of the siege. Part Two focuses on the last few days before the attack and reenacts the battle. Answers to study questions follow the credits. Narrated by Hal Holbrook.
