Destinies, a 26-tape set consisting of two half-hour episodes per tape, teaches speaking, listening, and comprehension skills in Spanish. This telenovela, or Spanish soap opera, immerses you in everyday situations with native speakers and introduces cultures, accents, and dialects of Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. Your understanding and appreciation of Spanish increases as you become absorbed in this mysterious and entertaining story. The vocabulary in lessons 27-36 includes: body parts; medical situations; city locations; stores; geographic features; professions; social life; and giving advice. The grammar covers: future; superlatives; present subjunctive; use of present subjunctive in noun clauses; subjunctive with adverbial clauses; commands; present perfect (indicative and subjunctive); que and quien; and past participle as adjective.
