Takes an offbeat and sometimes amusing look at the growing commerce between the traditional Amish of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and the tourists who visit them every year. Examines the effect of suburban sprawl on Amish farming and the increasing reliance by the Amish on craft and construction businesses for their livelihood. Although the tourist trade is beneficial to the Amish, the constant contact with outsiders threatens to erode Amish traditions and values.
