"Make48: Skills USA - Part 1" follows a fast-paced innovation challenge at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, where teams design and prototype portable tractor-mounted solutions in just 48 hours. The episode highlights engineering design, brainstorming, prototyping, CAD, CNC machining, sewing, product testing, and iterative problem solving. Key concepts include agriculture technology, workplace safety, ergonomics, first aid kit design, mechanical systems, intellectual property, and patent research. Teams develop ideas such as storage kits, safety and medical kits, roof-mounted organizers, and a coffee bean de-pulping device tailored to Hawaii agriculture. This episode supports school curricula in career and technical education, engineering, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship by showing how design thinking, collaboration, and technical skills are applied to real-world agricultural challenges. Part of the "Make48" series.
