Hi, everyone. Welcome to the Strong4Life Car Seat Safety Lab. I'm Ava, and if you're watching this particular video, then you're probably here for a super quick rundown of booster seat do's and don'ts. So without further a-do, always use a lap and shoulder belt when strapping your child into a booster seat, period. This is a must. Don't neglect to keep your booster seat strapped in even when your child isn't in the car. If you think your coffee spilling when you slam on the brakes tough, wait until you have a plastic projectile barreling through your window. Do always, always, always read the manual. Don't let your child put the seatbelt behind their back or under their arm. They might think it's more comfortable and they will complain about it, but their safety is well-worth the griping, I promise. Do keep your child in a booster seat until they're at least 4'9".

Don't forget to read your car seat manual. Yes, I know, I said it twice. Do make sure that the shoulder belt rests on your child's shoulder bone, not their neck, and that their lap belt rests across their hip bones, not their stomach. -And time. -[timer beeps] Wow, I think I did pretty well. I hope you found all these tips helpful. See you next time. Accessibility provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
