The consumption of alcohol has an immediate affect on the circulatory and respiratory system. It also acts as a sedative on the central nervous system and impacts the parts of the brain responsible for emotion and behavior. These are just a few of the reasons alcohol is illegal to consume for persons under the age of twenty-one. Students also explore the negative effects of alcohol abuse and addiction on a person, family, and the community. In the end, students will come to understand that the decisions they make about alcohol will influence their health, grades, relationships, career, and their freedom. Part of the "Talk It Out" series.
