Luciano has faced many hardships in his life. As an infant, he was diagnoses with cancer, and his right eye had to be removed. His mother left the family as Luciano was entering adolescence. He also suffered severe injuries from an accident with a train. However, Luciano works through these hardships and begins competing in athletic competitions.
