(child) Let's Look at the Moon.
(Describer) In a cartoon...
I love looking out the window when I'm riding in the car. Lots of things outside go by really fast, but the moon is always right there. Hello, Mr. Moon. Why are you following me? Hi, down there. I think human kids are pretty cool, but I'm not really following you. Things that are close to you pass by very fast, like those trees by the side of the road. Things that are a little farther away seem to pass by slower, like the barn upon that hill. But I am very far away in outer space. Space is so far that you don't notice the distance between us changing when you're riding in the car or walking outside. Mr. Moon, why are you big, round, and bright sometimes, and other times I can't see you at all. Ah, well, I am always very big and round, but sometimes the part of me that you see is in the dark. I spin around earth, the planet you live on, and earth spins around the sun. Sometimes I look round and bright. That's when my front is facing the sun. Sometimes you only see part of me. That means the sun is shining on my side. And sometimes all the sunlight is on my back. When that happens, I seem to disappear. Mr. Moon, I'm glad you're always there, even if I can't see you.
