      (hombre) El día con menor cantidad de luz solar, alrededor del 22 diciembre en Estados Unidos se llama solsticio de invierno. Hace mucho tiempo, durante el solsticio de invierno, la gente sabía que los días serían más largos y celebraban el regreso de la luz. Hoy en día, otras festividades, como Navidad y Janucá, se celebran cerca del solsticio. ¿Por qué los días parecen más largos o cortos? El eje de la Tierra es una línea imaginaria que atraviesa a nuestro planeta en rotación.
