In this 12-part series, Zero the Math Hero describes how to identify the correct parts of the figures so students will be able to substitute them into the formulas. The Pythagorean Theorem is also used in the process of finding volumes. Students will learn to find both exact and approximate answers for cylinders and cones when using the number pi. Proofs and the use of deductive reasoning are introduced in this lesson. Students will learn how to find the volume for a variety of 3-D figures such as: prisms, cylinders, cones, pyramids.
