Browse Full-length Non-member TitlesThis title explores one promising solution that has been tested in several dozen public schools – a self-regulatory technique called mindfulness that increases kids' focus, concentration, self-awareness, and impulse control. It presents a hopeful story of transformation, following a young mindfulness teacher, Megan Cowan, as she spends several months attempting to teach the technique to kids in a San Francisco public middle school that tops the district in disciplinary suspensions.

And Now What: Means of Communication (Spanish)
Meeting the needs of students means that sometimes you have to teach social skills and communication skills to the students who do not have that skill set in their typical behavior. Whatever experiences students bring to school there is a greater chance for a positive outcome when skills are taught over time and used so that the students can use them beyond the classroom time.
