Jimmy and Monique take their driving tests the same day, and the results definitely reflect their attitudes toward it. Jimmy's nonchalant, careless approach leads to failure and embarrassment. Monique, on the other hand, practiced her driving skills and easily executes parallel parking, turns, and signaling. She mentally reviews the rules as she follows the instructor's directions.
I am using this video to introduce then teach in depth concepts of the Driver's Education manual as a literacy choice in H.S. English/Reading. Having it available online in streaming format makes the process of using it very easy and cost effective (It's free!)
While it doesn't match my state's driver's education manual, it does match in terms of content common to driving in any area of the U.S. My use of this video is allowing me to provide access to informational text for my high school deaf students.
