A worldwide economic collapse, the Great Depression lasted more than a decade and only ended with the military production of World War II. Uses archival footage and photographs to examine life in the 1920s, the stock market crash, and unemployment. Discusses the farm depression, the New Deal, the rise of the labor movement, and the expanded role of the United States government.
