The first official publication from the deaf community was the “American Annals of the Deaf.” First published in 1847, it is the oldest and most widely read English-language journal dealing with deafness. Eventually, different schools for the deaf would start their own paper. These papers included entertaining stories, articles on education, poems, and general news. Part of the “Deaf History That” series.
