(Describer) Title: All About the Holidays. Each letter in “holidays” has a different colorful pattern. Pages of a calendar turn.

(Describer) December 25th is circled.

(female narrator) December 25 is Christmas Day. Christians go to church to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the central person of their religion. There are also Christmas traditions outside of church that many people enjoy. Houses are decorated with bright lights and Christmas trees. People gather for parties and watch Christmas movies. Every house seems to have Christmas cookies, radio stations play lots of Christmas songs, and going back hundreds of years, children in Europe got small presents around Christmastime. German and Dutch immigrants brought those customs to America. Today, Santa Claus brings gifts for kids, and adults give gifts to each other. Christmas is important for many different reasons. It's a holiday spent with family, which makes it a truly national celebration. And that's Christmas Day.
