Beyond The Page

Language, literacy, and learning come full circle in this classroom-directed series which highlights popular children’s books. The books are given new life through animated illustrations and thematically related field trips. The setting is the Page Cafe, where Shelley, an enthusiastic teenager, reads books and serves shakes to a group of elementary children. After the book is read, the children briefly discuss it and then interview authors, illustrators, and others with the use of a video-within-a-video technique.
